{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}
My gratitudes this last week:

-Getting back into the habit of writing my gratitudes each day. Last week was such a crazy busy week that I didn't write much and I missed it.

-A fun, successful day last Sunday vending at the Hip Strip Block Party. I was really nervous since it was my biggest vender event to date but it went well. Our little nugget also did well in the fashion show (no cranky baby meltdowns!). Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures to share since our friends had to leave before it started.

-A big crate overflowing with organic veggies, a gift from my dear farmer friend. I was busy all week preserving and trying out new recipes to use up some of these wonderful veggies.

-Actually remembering to cover up our garden when the weather forecast predicted a frost one night this week. I heard about it two days before so wrote myself a huge note so I wouldn't forget. Now our veggies have more time to continue producing until we start getting frosts every night.

-Canning our favorite sweet and spicy plum sauce! It has been two summers since I did any canning because last summer our little nugget arrived earlier than expected and most of our plums ended up spoiling before I had time to do anything with them.

-Connecting with more amazing work from home mamas online to support and inspire each other. Although we may never get a chance to meet in person, it is so wonderful to have this online network of support that I am so grateful for!

-A reminder from another mama blogger, Katie over at Brighton Park, that being a mama is my most important role and my Etsy shop and blog come second. Making sales and my blog stats are important, but it is more important to be a loving, present mama to our little nugget. Sometimes being a work from home mama can be really challenging when I have things I feel like I need to get done but our little nugget is vying for my time and attention. Katie's post really helped put that into perspective for me, you can read it here and find a little inspiration for yourself

-Some beautiful, colorful, sweet carrots!

-Getting into bed before 10pm a few nights this week so I could read a little before going to sleep. Since I do a lot of my blogging work at night after our little nugget goes to sleep, I have a hard time getting to bed at a decent hour. Since I'm an early riser, if I get to bed too late I'm groggy and unmotivated the next day so I've been trying hard to be more disciplined about going to bed earlier. Plus I am a total bookworm so it is an extra special treat to have a little time to myself to snuggle up in bed and read a chapter in my book!

-Getting a bunch of upcycled wool hats cut out and sewed to restock at one of the local shops I sell at in town. I was so busy making extra stock for the vender event I did last week that this hat order was put on hold so it feels good to be making progress on it.

-Meeting another mama in the area where we live by finding her on Freecycle and getting a bag of clothes passed on to us for our little nugget. I LOVE Freecycle, not just for the ability to share free items with each other but meeting other great folks in the area!

-Finding some wonderful treasures at the local Home Resource second hand hardware store to use in organizing my new office/work space. I absolutely LOVE my new work space now that I've slowly moved everything in over the last few weeks (pictures to come!) Just walking in the door to my little work space makes me feel so alive and creative. Plus the rest of the house is now more clutter free, no more sewing machine on the kitchen table and no stacks of boxes and fabric cut outs strewn about the living room, YAY!!!!

-Having "good junk karma". Seriously, the guy who rang me up at the Home Resource store said that to me after I told him how thrilled I was to have found a new package of sonar mouse deterrents there. It saved me a trip to the local hardware store plus I paid half the price. I think I like having "good junk karma" and hopefully this will do the trick to help us naturally keep the mice out of the kitchen in our little old house!

  1. "Good junk karma", that made me laugh!

You're so right about putting the little ones first. It's so easy to get wrapped up in something we're doing, even when they so want our attention. I'll have to give that post a read.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hello Annie!
Great list this week. Those veggies look good, what a wonderful gift from a farming friend.
My husband has good luck finding re-used things too. :)

    Love, Taryn

  4. Lucky you! That is a gorgeous basket of veggies & a wonderful thing to be thankful for! :) This is a great idea. I need to reflect more each week on what I am thankful for. I really do not do that enough. :/

    1. I didn't used to do this enough either and it really does make such a big difference in my life. If I forget to write at the end of the day, sometimes I find myself writing first thing in the morning or just thinking about my gratitudes if I don't have a chance to write. Hopefully you can start reflecting on your weekly gratitudes and maybe even join us on Sunday's link up :)
