We've been busy working on our new "fixer upper" house and slowly moving to the other side of the county so we haven't joined in Gratitude Sunday for a little while. We had a really wonderful day yesterday which got me thinking how much we have to be grateful for so thought I would share. Here are a few of our gratitudes from this last week:
-Deciding to take a spur of the moment trip down the Bitteroot Valley to spend the day at the Hardtimes Bluegrass Festival. The festival was held on a ranch with the stage area tucked in a lightly treed pine forest so we enjoyed some wonderful live bluegrass in the shade on a super hot day.
-Finally taking a few hours to weed our garden. This was a chore I'd neglected for a few weeks and the weeds were starting to overtake our veggies so well worth the time spent pulling weeds!
-Harvesting some of our echinacea flowers to dry and use for tea when we get sick.
-Picking a whole bunch of huckleberries and restocking our stash in the freezer to enjoy throughout the year.
-Our little nugget saying "Bless you Mama!" every time I sneeze.
-A lovely visit with our organic farmer friend who generously gifted us a ton of produce. We'll be busy preserving broccoli, kale, zucchini and beets this week!
-Remembering to get the laundry started early so I could hang it outside to dry before the day became too hot.
-Deciding to endure the scorching afternoon heat for a walk down to the river behind our house so we could cool off in the refreshing cold water.
-The forest fire on the mountain behind our house being put out quickly
before it burnt the whole mountain. We watched helicopters drop buckets
of water on the fire for a few hours and were so grateful when we heard
the fire was out.
i love the ton of produce. <3 what a great blessing.
