Welcome to our handmade eco-friendly living blog! Our family of three lives on a little homestead in Montana. Our family consists of myself (Annie), my husband and our toddler daughter whom I refer to as our “little nugget” or “Little A”. We are a work from home family with an Etsy shop. I started this blog in April 2012 as a means to share craft tutorials, recipes, and eco-friendly living tips. You can also read more about our adventures in homesteading at our blog Montana Homesteader.
MontanaSolarCreations was created in February 2012. Our small business began when I left my full time social work job in town to stay home and raise our daughter. I opened an Etsy shop to sell cloth diapers as a means to earn money working from home. I never dreamed our shop would grow to what it is today! Our business name was inspired by the solar panels on our roof so my sewing machine and my husband’s wood working tools were partly powered by solar.
We were inspired by several families we’ve met online who make a living by working from home selling their handcrafts. In December 2012, my husband left his job as co-owner of a solar business in town as we pursued our dream of making our handcrafts business a primary source of income for our family. A year later, we have been blown away by the success of our small business!
We are grateful to all of those who support us in this adventure. Thank you!
