{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

My gratitudes this last week:

-Blue sky!!!! Although we still have some forest fire smoke, there were a few days where it cleared out enough to see a little bit of blue sky. One morning when I walked outside, something just didn't seem right but I couldn't figure it out at first. Then I realized there was a clear blue sky and thought how wrong it was that the smokey air had become the new "normal" around here!

-A clear night sky for once so we could see the beautiful, bright almost full moon and stars in the sky.

-An amazing day building community at our local community garden. We walked over for a lunch time potluck, visiting with friends and a harvest party. Our little nugget played contentedly for hours in the dirt and vegetables. We left with the bottom storage basket on our stroller loaded down with vegetables and a bunch of cabbage to make saurkraut! It felt so good to visit with neighbors and work together in the dirt. I left feeling truly happy and content.

-Going grocery shopping at 7am on Tuesday mornings. I know that may sound really absurd to some of you, especially if you are not an early bird like myself. For months I have been struggling to find time to get groceries so for the last two weeks have tried out doing a quick trip at 7am on Tuesday mornings before I go to work a few hours at my social work job in town. I find that I am much more efficient, I buy less unnecessary items, there are very few people in the aisles to contend with and it feels less like a dreaded chore.

-Starting the Women in Hunting Series on my blog. It was a thought I had brewing in my mind for a few months now since I'm passionate about hunting. I finally just decided to do it and the response has been wonderful! If you missed the first post, you can find it here

-Going to the Amish store 45 minutes from our house. There were a lot of Amish families out in their wagons when we arrived so it was fun to see them and tell our little nugget about them since I grew up around so many Amish. We stocked up on bulk organics and our favorite cheeses from their deli since everything there is more affordable than the health food store in town.

-Finding a farm stand with produce in the Amish community and getting fresh, juicy melons and some sweet little pumpkins the perfect size for our little nugget.

-Learning how to write more html code, reformat my blog and upgrade to using my own domain name for my blog. At times it was mind boggling and extremely challenging since I am not a computer technology guru but when it was all done I felt extremely satisfied with my newly acquired DIY skills!

-Our Little Nugget's curiosity. I am loving every second of this new developmental stage she is in where she is so curious about everything instead of wanting to just put everything her in her mouth. It is such an amazing experience to witness her explore new objects, to try to imitate me and pronounce words when I name new objects for her, the big smile and shrieks of laughter that come out of her as she plays with her new found treasures.

    1. Hi Taryn! I am still relishing my day at the community garden yesterday, I'm planning to walk over again this week since there is a fun tire swing and so many things for baby to explore- that is if the smoke stays away!!!!
