Gratitude Sunday

G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y

Today we are joining Taryn at Wooly Moss Roots for
G r a t i t u d e  *  S u n d a y
{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

My gratitudes for the last week:
-Drinking hot tea everyday with herbs we either grew or wild harvested over the summer. It seems to nourish my body more than teas I buy at the store!

-Waking up on a gray dreary day feeling lost in a funk but forcing myself to go sit down and write my gratitudes. It didn't make my funk go away but it definitely improved my mood a little and gave me focus.

-Making two homemade french bread braids that turned out so beautiful, like works of art in the kitchen!

-Embarking on my first deer hide tanning adventure. I've always wanted to do it but never had the space or time but now I have both so I'm hoping I am able to finish since it is a long, intensive process.

-Seeing a huge, brightly colored rainbow as we drove home from town one afternoon.

-Reconnecting with my husband after an intense disagreement (we're both stubborn scorpios and don't often have a disagreement but when we do  it is INTENSE!) Communication is such an amazing healer.

-A fun mama/daughter craft party with friends. It was so much fun to see the little girls play with and explore the piles of craft supplies while we visited and crafted. I've been so busy creating things to sell I realized last week that it had been many months since I actually sat down and made something for our little nugget. It felt so wonderful to make a pair of fun upcycled pants for her, the creative process was so much more enjoyable than creating something to sell!

-Sitting down and outlining goals and objectives for my Etsy shop and blog. I've been feeling a little lost and spread thin so it felt really good to give myself some direction.

-Learning from my mistakes. I wish we didn't have to make mistakes, but I realize that mistakes are part of life and helps us to grow.

-Being in a really fun, supportive blogger group. Unlike some other groups I'm in, it is quite diverse and has helped me improve my blog and grow so much in the short time since I joined the group. It really is a supportive community that helps each other and is not focused on promoting yourself and I LOVE that. It is amazing the connections and friendships we are able to develop over the internet!

-Getting a few things on my "to do" list marked off that have been on there for two months- it was especially gratifying to cross them off!

-Transplanting the raspberries to a better spot and expanding the strawberry patch so they are all ready to spread and grow when spring arrives.

-Finding a gift certificate to a local restaurant that I had received for Christmas last year and forgot about. We enjoyed a "free" family brunch and it was such a nice change of pace and extra special treat for us!

-Starting my first week of co-hosting A Little Sunday Potluck, it has been so much fun! By writing a post to highlight my top five favorite blog posts of the week it gave me a lot of insight into the major themes happening in my life this last week (click here to check it out!)

  1. Love the pants! I'm really excited to have found a cashmere sweater at the thrift store, which I'm turning into pants for my baby. It's getting cold and I would be thrilled with cashmere pants!

    1. Cashmere baby pants sound so wonderful! I made an upcycled pair of baby pants out of a holey angora sweater last year and they were super soft- I just wish I could make a pair for me :)
