Greenwoman Magazine for the Hip and Eco-friendly Gardener

Recently I've been enjoying a wonderful read, Greenwoman Magazine: A Literary Garden. Since I'm a bookworm, I always have a stack of books and lists of online publications to read. I'm especially thrilled about Greenwoman Magazine because it is right up my alley "Daring and fun, Greenwoman is for the hip gardener who loves digging into the world of art and environmental thought that underlies gardening."

On days when I read and re-read the same favorite toddler books to my daughter, it is so nice to sit down in the evenings with a cup of homegrown herbal tea and read something I choose. Something thought provoking and stimulating. Greenwoman Magazine is exactly that.

I love that Greenwoman Magazine has a diverse mix of writing ranging from fiction and non-fiction to poetry, biography and even art and comics. There is something for everyone. Here were a few of my favorites in issue four:
  • Poultry Season by Bonnie Simon: The last paragraph of her article really spoke to me and made me stop and think about how much I have to be grateful for this last year.
  • A Generous Season by Tom Preble: This well written piece made me chuckle and feel proud of the fact that we grow a lot of our own food despite all the hard work.
  • Escape to the Garden Comic: I think I need this framed for my office! Last summer I often could be found outside with my laptop working so I could sit near the gardens and blooming flowers.
  • Grow, a poem by Carolyn Williams-Noren: This is another one of the pieces that really spoke to me. Simply beautiful.
  • Tis the Season by Becky Elder: This great piece helped to reaffirm our decision to always try and have a "local and homespun" holiday season.

With three full pages of contributors, Greenwoman Magazine is filled with wonderfully written words and lovely art.
